In finance, the primary market is where new securities are produced, like a factory for fresh stocks and bonds. Companies and governments refer here to raise money by selling these securities. Investment banks set the initial prices and manage the sales. Once the securities are sold for the first time, they hit the secondary market. It involves deals where an investor purchases an already-existing stake or asset from primary investors in Private Equity funds, limited partners. These transactions can be organized in various ways to suit the preferences of the parties involved. This mechanism needs to be well understood by Private Equity candidates.

With this structured presentation, dive into the basics of our Secondaries & Primaries activity.
